Sindhu Krishna is the head of Sustainable Investments team at the Phoenix Group, and her team is responsible for integrating ESG considerations within the investment portfolios of the Group. She has been part of the Group for over nine years having held various investment team roles and prior to that, she worked within investment teams at Zurich Insurance Group. Sindhu is a CFA charter holder and also holds an MBA from Warwick Business School.

She was Co-Chair of the UN Secretary-General’s High-Level Panel for Women'sEconomic Empowerment from 2016 to 2018.For decades, Simona has been engaged in gender equity and DE&I, and she has co-founded, and has beenthe president of, Valore D in Italy and Advance Women in business in Switzerland. Since 2010 she hasworked as an advocate on ESG-related topics and has a consolidated knowledge and experience in the fieldof ESG-related themes. She is the author of the book 'The Other Half'.

She was CEO of the BP Pension Scheme in 2007-14 after twenty years with Aon Hewitt working as a consultant and in investment research.  Her non-executive portfolio has included roles at the Nuclear Liabilities Fund, NEST Corporation and the Lloyds Bank pension schemes. External appointments: Chair at Impax Asset Management Group plc, non-executive director at insurers Royal London and Pension Insurance Corporation, and at Local Pensions Partnership (LPP) Limited, where she chairs its regulated investment company.

His professional experience began with a seven-year stint as an equity researchanalyst in Mexico City and New York. After a brief period in Investor Relations in Chicago, he settled inLondon working on an emerging markets fund, before returning to banking for a further stretch as aninstitutional equity salesperson, prior to joining the West Yorkshire Pension Fund. He has a degree inEconomics, a Masters in Investment Analysis and has recently passed the CFA Certificate in ESG Investing.

Richard joined Capital Cranfield in December 2019, having worked in pensions for over a decade, acting forthe sponsor and as a trustee on DB, DC and hybrid plans.He led the funding and investment team in a large corporate, responsible for liabilities of £40bn across ascore of funds and was a trustee of a £1.5bn European cross-border plan. He has multiple appointments asa chair or co-trustee of schemes ranging from £30m-£4bn and is a co-opted member of the pensioncommittee of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. He chairs the pension committee of the Churchof England Pension Board, responsible for three very complex pension funds and a large housing charity.Richard started his career in engineering in a large multi-national, before moving through multiplecommercial, corporate finance and investment decision making roles. He has a strong interest in ESG anddiverse expertise in responsible investment from both corporate and trustee roles. He has led carboncapture and storage projects and the funding of multiple wind and solar businesses; at the CofE, as atrustee, he oversees one of the world’s most influential ESG teams, and also advises a company developingwhite (geological) hydrogen.

Nick is a regular speaker at seminars and conferences and the author of articles in the pensions technical press.

Michael Eakins is currently the CIO for Phoenix Group, the UK’s largest long-term savings and retirementprovider, with over £330bn of assets under administration, on behalf of over 14 million policyholders. In hiscurrent role, Mike is a member of the Group Executive Committee, reporting into the Group CEO, AndyBriggs. In addition, Mike is an Executive Director of underlying Life Company Boards.Mike is responsible for leading all of the investment functions within the Phoenix Group, with aparticular focus on (I), illiquid asset origination for the Phoenix Bulk Purchase Annuity business, (ii),developing a leading capability for sustainable investments and (iii), developing a best-in-classinvestment operating framework.Prior to joining Phoenix in July 2020, Mike was the Group CIO of ReAssure (which was acquired byPhoenix Group in July 2020). At ReAssure, Mike was a member of the Group Executive Committee and wascharged with developing the investment strategy in preparation for the planned IPO and acquisition ofinsurance companies. Prior to joining ReAssure, Mike was an MD at Goldman Sachs, where hespent over fourteen years undertaking a variety of client-facing roles. Prior to joining Goldman Sachs, Mikequalified as an actuary with EY.

Maria Long joined the SBAI as Content and Research Director in August 2020 and is responsible for the SBAI’s Working Groups and Toolbox publications. Prior to joining the SBAI, she was an Operational Due Diligence Analyst at Man FRM (‘FRM’) a Fund of Hedge Fund and Managed Account Provider based in London. Prior to joining the Operational Due Diligence Team in 2015, Maria was the Head of FRM Middle Office. Her responsibilities included oversight of valuation production, expense payments, FX hedging and reconciliations. Prior to joining FRM in 2008, Maria worked for Northern Trust Hedge Fund Services in Dublin running the Fund of Hedge Fund Accounting Team and also held operational roles at Unigestion SA and Thames River Capital (UK) Limited, both hedge fund managers based in London.   Maria received first class honours for a BSc in Physical Sciences from the Open University in June 2017.

He currently works in the voluntary sector, including as trustee of a small DB pensionscheme and on the investment committee of a major charity.Laurence graduated from Imperial College with a degree in Chemical Engineering and is a CharteredAccountant. He is passionate about ESG and believes that, in the long run, good ESG is also good business.Laurence is increasingly frustrated by the lack of consistency and the gaming of ESG reporting.

His previous roles include a global macro portfolio manager at Mako Global, a Director of foreign exchange market strategy at UBS, an Assistant Vice President in the Strategic Transactions Group of Barclays Capital, and a bond trader at Goldman Sachs.   Kroum holds a Master’s degree in International Affairs with a specialization in Environment, Resources and Sustainability from The Graduate Institute in Geneva, Switzerland; a Master of Finance from the University of Cambridge, and a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from Colgate University, United States.

Katie Zolnierz joined DSAM Partners, an equity long short hedge fund, in March 2021, responsible for ESG strategy.   Prior to joining DSAM, Katie served as a Vice President at Brown Brothers Harriman, the oldest private bank in the U.S.   In her 14 years at Brown Brothers Harriman, Katie held various risk and operations roles, including oversight of the firm’s securities lending programme and institutional proxy team.  Katie holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology & Communications (summa cum laude) from Boston College, College of Arts & Sciences, and a Master of Business Administration (with distinction) from Boston College, Carroll School of Management.   Katie is working towards the CFA UK Certificate in ESG Investing.
